The 2009/10 season was the 28th edition of the highest English women's ice hockey league , the Women's Premier Ice Hockey League . The league is run by the English Ice Hockey Association , the English association under the umbrella of the British ice hockey association Ice Hockey UK . The winner received the Bill Britton Memorial Trophy .

The relegation winners Billingham Wildcats waived promotion, so that Solihull Vixens remained in the Premier League. Initially, all teams played a simple round with a return leg. The four best reached the semifinals. The last had to be relegated to the best in the 1st division. In the final round, only one game was played between the opponents.

The Women's National Ice Hockey League is the second tier of the English women 's ice hockey league after the Premier League. Division 1 is the highest class in it. It is divided into three regional groups.
