Walbrun (Eichstätt)
In 1149 Walbrun was counter-bishop of Eichstätt .
Walbrun came from an unspecified family, but it is known that he was related to the future bishop Otto . Walbrun was elected as counter-bishop at the same time as Burchard by a minority friendly to the Staufers . His supporters in the cathedral chapter also expected a continuation of the policy of his predecessor Gebhard II. Count von Grögling with regard to the Heidenheim monastery . Conrad III. decided in favor of Burchard on his return from the Second Crusade .
