Wannersdorf is a village in the area of ​​the cadastral municipality of the same name in the municipality of Frohnleiten in the Austrian state of Styria . Wannersdorf has 182 residents (as of January 1, 2020) on an area of ​​532.60 hectares. Wannersdorf is located on the Mur .

The main factory of Mayr-Melnhof AG , which is one of the largest cardboard manufacturers in the world, is located in Wannersdorf . The plant in Frohnleiten-Wannersdorf was founded in 1888 and has been expanded ever since. To the west of the village is the Mur power station Frohnleiten ( Lage ). In 2015 the power plant from 1925 was extensively renovated and rebuilt. The production volume is 47 GWh and the power plant supplies 14,500 households. The Gschwendt (own Gschwendtberg or Gschwendtkogel) is the local mountain of the municipality of Frohnleiten. The 993  m high mountain peak is located in the Wannersdorf area.
