Wedell Poul Østergaard
Wedell Poul Østergaard (born May 7, 1924 in Gentofte ; † March 21, 1995 ibid) is a former Danish cyclist and national cycling champion .
Athletic career
Østergaard (in German media also Oestergaard) won the 1949 Danish championship in the amateur road race ahead of Christian Pedersen . In 1950 and 1952 he was runner-up in each case. He made seven international peace trips for Denmark , more often than any other Dane. His best result on the tour was 15th in 1950 . In 1952 he was a participant in the Summer Olympics in Helsinki . When André Noyelle won , he was 37th in the Olympic road race. His team took 6th place. He started for the club CC Gladsaxe .
