Werner - That must be killing! is a full-length cartoon produced in Germany in 1996 . It is the second feature film in the Werner series based on the comics of the same name created by Rötger Feldmann ("Brösel") .

In the middle of winter, the greatest fun for the Wernersens is to heat over the frozen lakes with the self-made ice sledge . In return, Werner even neglects his work in the Röhrich sanitary facility. In doing so, they run into the rich restaurant owner Nobelschröder and lose to his Bentley . Frustrated, they hear from farmer Horst over a small grog to cheer them up about his adventures in the Second World War and his hand-shot down American bomber . Farmer Horst says that the bomber must still be lying in the swamp. Werner and Andi go looking for the engine and finally find it. They install the recovered engine in their ice sledge in order to defeat Nobelschröder in the revenge. But there are always problems: The fuel does not have the necessary octane number and the lake has thawed in the meantime. Because now it's summer and Werner has to go back to work first. At the barbecue party organized by Master Röhrich for the builder Günzelsen because of the lack of orders, which led to a disaster due to difficulties with illegal schnapps brandy , Werner came up with the recipe for a miracle fuel: methyl , actually methanol . He convinces Andi that the engine will run with it and they construct a new racer, this time with wheels ("these black pieces [...] with air on them that go where you drive.").
Incited by the skeptical Nobelschröder during the construction, Werner lets himself be carried away with a bet: dine for one month in Nobelschröder's restaurant "Cardan Bleu" against Werner and Andi's domestic pig Borsti. But stopped by various quarrels, most recently the forgotten cam ring, Werner loses the bet and Nobelschröder claims his win. Threatened by the unsuspecting Andi, Werner Nobelschröder persuaded him to make a new bet: a year of hand washing for the Bentley against Borsti. But they also miss this deadline, so that Borsti is slaughtered and consumed as suckling pig. In order to save their domestic pig, Werner turns it up, and with the methyl-powered motor they drive back through time ("I'm hanging on the time now, now.") And reach the "Cardan Bleu" just in time. The subsequent race for the domestic pig, instigated by Nobelschröder's hungry guests, was won by Werner and Andi with ease thanks to the aircraft engine and methyl.
