Wilhelm Goette
Wilhelm Goette (born February 23, 1873 in Strasbourg , Alsace ; † October 2, 1927 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) was a German architect and construction clerk who worked in Gotha and Plauen .
Life
Wilhelm Goette was the son of a university professor. He spent his school days in Strasbourg and Rostock . Goette then studied architecture at the Technical University in Munich and at the Technical University (Berlin-) Charlottenburg . During his studies in 1893 he became a member of the Rhenania Munich fraternity . After passing the 1st state examination in building construction in 1898, he began a legal traineeship (as a government construction manager ) in public construction on various construction projects in Berlin . He passed the 2nd state examination in 1901 and was appointed government builder ( assessor ). In 1904 he was transferred to Kassel as a garrison construction inspector . In 1907 he left the civil service and moved to the municipal building administration of the city of Gotha as town planning officer.
From March 1, 1910, he worked in the Plauen City Planning Department; there he was elected for life in 1915 as a town planner. He held the office until his death on an inspection trip to Bavaria with Lord Mayor Lehmann . He died of a stroke. In his private life, Goette showed a wide range of cultural interests, for example as a singer and member of the board of directors of the Richard Wagner Society. He also worked as an amateur photographer and was chairman of the art association in Plauen.
