Wilhelm Remler

Wilhelm Remler (also Remmler; born October 28, 1824 in Lübben , Niederlausitz , † February 6, 1896 in Berlin ) was a German organ builder in Berlin.

Life

The son of the shoemaker Johann Christian Remmler completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter in 1843, then went hiking for ten years and then settled as an organ builder in Berlin at Kochstrasse 25. In total, he created over 35 new buildings in a difficult personal and economic environment, mainly in the Mark Brandenburg. Since 1887 at the latest, he has been calling the company W. Remler & Sohn .

Wilhelm Remler created over 30 new organs, as well as conversions and repairs, especially in the Mark Brandenburg , some in Mecklenburg and Western Pomerania. Some have been preserved. Instruments that are no longer available are in italics .
