Friedrich Wilhelm Johann von Kamienski (born December 31, 1809 in Prenzlau , † May 11, 1867 in Dresden ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and commander of the 5th division .

Wilhelm von Kamienski was the son of the Prussian Colonel Joseph von Kamienski (1751-1820) and his wife Juliane, née Salzmann. His father was in command of the "Braunschweig-Oels" infantry regiment .

Career

Kamienski visited the Berlin Cadet House and on March 30, 1827 was transferred to the 25th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a Second Lieutenant . For further training he was commanded at the General War School in 1831/34 and then acted as an adjutant of the 2nd Battalion. From March 30, 1839 to March 26, 1847 Kamienski was commanded to serve as an adjutant in the 14th Landwehr Brigade and in the meantime rose to prime lieutenant . From March 27, 1847, he was promoted to captain and returned to his regiment as a company commander. On January 13, 1853 he was appointed major in command of the III. Battalion in the 25th Landwehr Regiment in Malmedy . This was followed by a position as commander of the Fusilier Battalion in the 28th Infantry Regiment on November 13, 1856, and in this position he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on May 22, 1858 . On May 25, 1858, Kamienski was first ordered to serve in the War Ministry and was transferred to the Ministry on January 20, 1859 with the appointment as head of the clothing department. He was commissioned on June 12, 1860 with the command of the 24th Combined Infantry Regiment, from which the 8th Brandenburg Infantry Regiment No. 64 emerged on July 1, 1860 .
