Willis Hall (politician, around 1779)
Willis Hall , also Willis Hall Jr. (* around 1779, in Hartford , Vermont , † August 7, 1856 in Garrettsville , Ohio ) was an American politician who was State Auditor of Vermont from 1817 to 1819 .
Life
The son of Willis Hall, a merchant and veteran of the American Revolutionary War , Willis Hall Jr. Born around 1779 in Hartford, Vermont. In some records, his first name is also written "Wyllis".
Like his father, he also became a businessman and held various public offices in Woodstock , Vermont, including the town's Board of Selectmen and the High Bailiff of Windsor County . Hall also served in the Vermont Militia . He was also an active member of the Freemasons .
From 1817 to 1819 he was an elected State Auditor in Vermont.
He later moved to Garrettsville, Ohio. He died there on August 7, 1856.
