Wittenbach is a district of the municipality of Wilburgstetten in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .
geography
The village is located on the Höllbach, which is a right tributary of the Rotach , which in turn is a right tributary of the Wörnitz . The place is located with the southern Beermühle in a forest clearing. The Espan forest area is to the west, Brand to the northwest, Hetschenlach to the northeast, Abelensschlag to the east and Bärlach to the south.
history
With the community edict (early 19th century) the tax district Wittenbach was formed, to which the places Beermühle , Burgstallhof , Gramstetterhof and Rühlingstetten belonged. A little later the rural community of Wittenbach was formed with Beermühle, Burgstallhof and Gramstetterhof . It was subordinate to the Mönchsroth Lordship Court in terms of administration and jurisdiction . In 1961 the municipality had an area of 4,962 km². In the course of the territorial reform , this was incorporated into Wilburgstetten on January 1, 1971.
