Knittelsbach is a part of the municipality of Wilburgstetten in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village lies on the left bank of the Wörnitz and the Almosenbächlein, which flows into the Wörnitz as a left tributary. The place is immediately surrounded by arable land and grassland with a few trees. Approx. 0.75 km further east is the Altweiher, approx. 0.75 km southeast of the oat, black and master ponds.

history

Knittelsbach was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Wassertrüdingen . Towards the end of the 18th century there were seven subject families in the place, one of which had an Ansbach office as landlord . From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Wassertrüdingen .

In 1806 Knittelsbach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . With the community edict (early 19th century), Knittelsbach was assigned to the tax district of Villersbronn . A little later, the rural community Knittelsbach was formed, to which the places Brennhof , Freundstal (until the 1950s called Lohmühle ), Neustädtlein , Radwang , Sankt Ulrich , Sittlingen and Walkmühle belonged. It was subordinate to the Dinkelsbühl regional court in terms of administration and jurisdiction . The Walkhof was founded in 1925 in the municipality. In 1961 the municipality had an area of ​​6.299 km². In the course of the regional reform , the municipality was dissolved on April 1, 1971. Freundstal, Neustädtlein, Radwang, Sankt Ulrich and Sittlingen came to Dinkelsbühl, Brennhof, Knittelsbach, Walkhof and Walkmühle in Wilburgstetten.

Former architectural monument

  • House No. 4: Associated two-storey old building. Three to four upper floor windows, half-hipped roof. Very decorative architecture, facade painting from the construction period: parapet panels, cornices, jointed corner pilasters; also painted the imitations of ground floor stable windows. On the keystone of the arched door, the year 1821 and the monogram JAL (= Johann Adam Lehr).
