geography

The wasteland lies on the Lohgraben, which flows into the Wörnitz as a left tributary . Immediately to the west of the village, the Lohgraben feeds a chain of ponds (Lower and Upper Lohweiher, Gatterweiher, Bauernweiher). Approx. 0.75 km west of the Wörnitz is the Ranke Alp ( 465  m above sea level ). The B 25 leads to Neustädtlein (0.8 km northwest) or to Knittelsbach (0.5 km southeast).

history

Until the 1950s the place was called Lohmühle.

The Fraisch over Lohmühle was disputed between the Ansbach Oberamt Wassertrüdingen , the Oettingen-Spielberg Oberamt Dürrwangen and the imperial city of Dinkelsbühl . There was an estate at the end of the 18th century. The landlord was the Catholic church administration of the imperial city of Dinkelsbühl. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Wassertrüdingen .

In 1809 Lohmühle was assigned to the tax district and the rural community Villersbronn as a result of the municipal edict . With the second community edict (1818) the place was transferred to the newly formed rural community Knittelsbach . On April 1, 1971, Freundstal was incorporated into Dinkelsbühl as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
