geography

The village is about half a kilometer south of the settlement boundary of Dinkelsbühl across the valley cut of the Walkenweiherbach, a right tributary of the Wörnitz , on the opposite hill in the nature reserve Walk- / Gaisweiher. The ponds are used for fish farming . Communal roads lead to Sittlingen (1 km south), past the fulling mill to Dinkelsbühl (0.8 km north), to Hohenschwärz (1.1 km south-west) and to Sankt Ulrich (1 km south).

history

The Fraisch over Radwang was disputed between the Oettingen-Spielberg Oberamt Mönchsroth and the imperial city of Dinkelsbühl . The imperial city of Dinkelsbühl held the village and community rulership as well as the lordship over all properties. Towards the end of the 18th century there were 7 properties (Protestant church maintenance: 1 estate; council maintenance: 2 estates, 1 house; infirmary: 2 estates; hospital: 1 courtyard).

In 1809, as a result of the municipal edict, Radwang was assigned to the tax district and the rural municipality of Villersbronn . With the second community edict (1818) the place was assigned to the newly formed rural community Knittelsbach . On April 1, 1971, Radwang was incorporated into Dinkelsbühl as part of the regional reform .
