Veitswend is a district of the large district town of Dinkelsbühl in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Veitsgraben, which is a right tributary of the Zwergwörnitz , flows through the hamlet . The place is surrounded by arable land, grassland and smaller forest areas.

history

From the place name ending “–wend” it can be concluded that the place was originally a Wendensiedlung .

The place was in the Fraisch district of the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Crailsheim . From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Crailsheim . In 1804 there were four households in the place, three of which were subject to the German Order and one to the imperial city of Dinkelsbühl .

With the community edict (early 19th century) Veitswend was assigned to the tax district and the rural community Weidelbach . On May 1, 1978, this was incorporated into Dinkelsbühl as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
