Wolfgang Filzwieser (born September 30, 1984 ) is an Austrian handball goalkeeper .

Filzwieser began playing handball at Union St. Pölten when he was young . For the 2002/03 season, the then 18-year-old handball goalkeeper moved to Alpla HC Hard . With the Vorarlbergers he was able to secure the championship title in his first season and the trophy in 2004/05 . For the 2007/08 season a change of the right-hander to the Swedish club IFK Trelleborg was planned. After only two games in the Elitserien , the Lower Austrian ended his stay due to problems with the conclusion of the contract. The rest of the 2007/08 season, the St. Pöltner kept fit at UHK Krems before he played for the Lower Austrians in the Handball League Austria from 2008/09 . With the UHK Krems Filzwieser secured the trophy for the second time in his career in 2009/10 . From 2013/14 to 2014/15 he was under contract with Union Leoben . In 2015/16 the Lower Austrian signed in his hometown and thus ran again for his youth club. Filzwieser signed with the Fivers Margareten handball club for the 2017/18 season .

Filzwieser has been part of the Austrian national handball team 27 times . In 2014 he was in the expanded squad for the European Championship .
