Markus Kolar (born October 12, 1984 in Vienna ) is an Austrian handball player .

Career

The 1.95 meter tall and 90 kilogram back player has been under contract with the handball club Fivers Margareten in Vienna since 2003 . In his first season he was voted "Newcomer of the Year" by the league. With Fivers Margareten he played in the European Cup Winners' Cup (2007, 2010) and the EHF Cup (2006, 2008, 2009). During his time at Fivers Margareten, he won the championship title with the team in 2011 , 2016 and 2018 and the ÖHB Cup victory in 2009 , 2012 , 2013 , 2015 , 2016 and 2017 . In April 2015, the Viennese extended his contract in Margareten until 2017.

Kolar has so far played 61 international matches for Austria , in which he scored 80 goals. He took part in the 2014 European Championship in Denmark.
