Richard Wöss (born October 10, 1986 in Vienna ) is an Austrian handball player .

Wöss began to play handball in his youth at the handball club Fivers Margareten . In the 2005/06 season , the right winger was named "Newcomer of the Year" and was able to establish himself in the Margaretners' first team.

In 2006/07 , the Viennese already played for the Austrian national team and was the top scorer at the under 21 European championships in Innsbruck . Wöss then received offers from Frisch Auf Göppingen and HSV Hamburg , but refused them and switched to league competitor HIT Innsbruck .

After two years with the Tyroleans, the 1.87 meter tall and 80 kilogram heavy athlete signed his first contract abroad with TUSEM Essen . In 2011/12 the Austrian was signed by league competitor Bergischen HC . In the 2014/15 season he played in the German handball Bundesliga for TuS N-Lübbecke .

In 2015/16 Wöss signed again with his youth club handball club Fivers Margareten , for which he played in the Handball League Austria . This season he was able to secure his first title with the Viennese, in 2016 he won the ÖHB Cup and the Austrian championship title with the team . After this season he ended his engagement to take another step abroad. In February 2017, Wöss joined TUSEM Essen in the fight to stay in the league.

At the beginning of June 2018, the Bayern league team HT Munich signed him. The left-hander was signed by Handball Tirol for the spusu Liga 2019/20 season . With that, the Viennese returned to Tyrol after ten years .

Wöss scored 113 goals in 76 international matches for the Austrian national team .
