Wolfgang Titius
Wolfgang Titius (born June 24, 1952 in Bremen ) is a German doctor and admiral doctor out of service. From 2011 to 2014 he was chief physician at the Bundeswehr Hospital in Berlin .
Military career
After graduating from the Friedrich-Paulsen-Schule in Niebüll in 1972 , he signed up for two years as a temporary soldier in the German Navy . During this time he was used in the navigation service on the escort frigate Cologne . In 1974/75 he was on a private work and study trip to Namibia . In 1975 he was reinstated in the armed forces and studied medicine as a medical officer candidate at the University of Hamburg . 1981 received the approval and became a doctor of medicine doctorate . Between 1981 and 1983. Titus was assistant physician at the Military Hospital in Hamburg , then from 1983 to 1986 medical officer in the naval sanitary unit Flensburg and squadron doctor at third speedboat squadron in Flensburg. From 1986 to 1987, Titius was an assistant doctor in surgery (junior resident) and medical observer at the Naval Hospital Bethesda and Naval Medical Research Institute in Bethesda , Maryland ( USA ). From 1987 to 1992 he was an assistant doctor in the departments for trauma surgery and general , visceral and thoracic surgery at the Bundeswehr Central Hospital in Koblenz . In 1992 he was recognized as a specialist in surgery. He then worked from 1992 to 2003 as a senior physician in the general, visceral and thoracic surgery department at the German Armed Forces Hospital in Koblenz. In 1997 and 1998 he also received further training to become a specialist in visceral surgery and a specialist in thoracic surgery . In 1998, Titius was German representative in the NATO Ballistic Body Protection Task Group , as a military science activity in the Defense Clothing and Textiles Agency in Colchester ( GBR ), and at the same time Consultant Surgeon in the National Health Service in England, until he became department head for surgery at the Bundeswehr Hospital Amberg in 2003 . In 2004 he was a Trauma Fellow at Witwatersrand University in South Africa , a surgeon at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital , Johannesburg . From 2006 to 2010 Titius was Head of the Controlling Department in the Medical Command in Koblenz. In 2008 he earned a part-time MBA in Health Care Management at the EBS University of Business and Law in Oestrich-Winkel . From 2010 to 2011 he was a department head in the medical command in Koblenz, responsible for the Bundeswehr hospitals. In 2011 he became chief physician at the Bundeswehr Hospital in Berlin . In December 2014, he handed over this post to fleet doctor Knut Reuter and was retired after 41 years of service.
