Wolfgangshof (colloquially: "Wolfgangshūf") is a district of the town of Zirndorf in the Middle Franconian district of Fürth .

location

The estate is on the FÜ 22 district road , which leads to Weitersdorf (1.2 km southwest) and Anwanden (0.4 km northeast). The property is surrounded by arable and grassland. To the west is the Krähenleite hill, to the south the Gaukelesberg ( 386  m above sea level ).

history

After Lothar von Faber brought in several goods at Anwanden from 1883/1884 onwards, after further acquisitions, an estate was finally built, which was inaugurated on August 27, 1902 and named "Wolfgangshof", after the eldest son of born in July 1902 Count Alexander and Countess Ottilie von Faber-Castell (who died in March 1903).

The then progressive estate system (with wind motor, motor operation and electric light) was further expanded in the following years and, in addition to agricultural products, also produced deposits for the workers of the A. W. Faber pencil factory (today Faber-Castell ) in nearby Stein . From 1967 dairy farming was given up and the work in the estate was continued with horse breeding of Bavarian warmbloods , which continued until 1993.

On January 1, 1976, Wolfgangshof was incorporated into Zirndorf from Leichendorf as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

After all, since 1994 the agricultural land around the estate has been leased and the stables, halls and facilities have been used for various subsequent uses.

The Green Lust has been held here every year since 2002 , a three-day market for green products and ideas.

The Christmas market, which was previously held at Hexenagger Castle, has also been held at Gut Wolfgangshof for several years.
