Weiherhof (colloquially: "Waieʳhōf") is a district of the city of Zirndorf in Middle Franconia / Nuremberg Metropolitan Region .

geography

The village is located on the Banderbach, which is a left tributary of the Bibert . The Zirndorfer Stadtwald borders in the west, the Fürth Stadtwald in the north and east . Communal roads lead to Oberfürberg (1 km north), to Zirndorf (2.8 km south-east), to the district road FÜ 19 (1 km south-west) and to Banderbach also to FÜ 19 (0.6 km south).

history

Weiherhof differs from the other districts of the city of Zirndorf in two ways: It was founded much later, but developed into the largest district within a very short time. In 1709 the Zirndorf pastor Leonard Fischer founded the place by clearing the water-rich forest and creating a retirement home with agriculture. The first written mention in 1711 goes back to the founder, in the parish description it says: “Weiherhof. Pastor Leonard Fischer founded it and has two armies. ”According to the Vetterschen Oberamtsbeschreibung from 1732 there was only one subject family. For decades the “Hof am Weiher” remained the only building.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were two properties in Weiherhof (one courtyard, one house). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Cadolzburg . The landlord was the Cadolzburg caste office .

The Principality of Ansbach - and with it Weiherhof - passed into the Kingdom of Prussia in 1792 . In 1804 there was a property that was subordinate to the Cadolzburg Office. In 1806 the principality was finally incorporated into the Kingdom of Bavaria .

As part of the community edict, Weiherhof was assigned to the Leichendorf tax district formed in 1808 . It belonged to the rural community of Bronnamberg , which was founded in the same year .

The Bronnamberg-Banderbach-Weiherhof volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1886 .

Until the middle of the 20th century, the size and character of Weiherhof did not change significantly. In 1950 the first construction work began. In the 1970s, Weiherhof was transformed into a large construction site due to the building boom. The old community of Bronnamberg took care of supply and disposal, built roads, and the workers' welfare organization a kindergarten. During this time a post office and two financial institutions were established. Doctors and dentists and a pharmacy set up shop. For the originally small, rural community of Bronnamberg, this rapid development was not only a financial but also a social challenge.

As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Bronnamberg was dissolved on May 1, 1978 and incorporated into Zirndorf. Weiherhof had over 3000 inhabitants at that time. In 1981 the new fire station was inaugurated. In 2007/2008 the train stop was modernized.
