The outwardly very similar models Wolseley 4/50 and Wolseley 6/80 were the first post-war models of Wolseley . They were quickly put into production in 1948 and were based on the Morris Oxford MO or Morris Six MS . The 4/50 had a four-cylinder in-line engine with 1476 cc and 50 bhp (37 kW), while the 6/80 had a two-cylinder version with 2215 cc and 72 bhp (53 kW) output. Both engines had an overhead camshaft.

The cars were well equipped and looked impressive with the round tailgate of the Morris and the upright Wolseley grille. They were often used by the police - especially the 6/80.

Both models were built by Morris at their Cowley plant in conjunction with Oxford MO. In 1953/1954 they were replaced by the 4/44 and 6/90 models .
