Woodstock is a village in the town of Woodstock in Windsor County , Vermont in the United States with 900 inhabitants (according to the 2010 census). The Village Woodstock is located in the northeast of the Town Woodstock and is traversed by the Ottauquechee River .
history
The Town Woodstock, in which the Village Woodstock is located, was put up for sale by Benning Wentworth as part of his New Hampshire Grants on July 10, 1761. Town Woodstock, in which Village Woodstock is the main settlement, is the administrative center ( Shire Town ) of the county.
The Village Woodstock was given independent rights in 1837.
The Woodstock Village Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It includes the center of the village and other lots on the Ottauquechee River. There are a total of 95 buildings and structures that belong to the historical past.

The US Highway 4 runs in a northeast to southwest through the Village. It essentially follows the course of the Ottauquechee River . In the center of the village, Vermont State Route 12 meets the highway when coming from the north and Vermont State Route 106 joins the highway a little south of this point from the south .
