Worławki (German Warlack ) is a small town in the western Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Świątki ( rural community Heiligenthal ) in the powiat Olsztyński ( Allenstein district ).

Geographical location and transport links

Worławki is located two kilometers from the northwest bank of Jezioro Sunia ( Zaunsee ), not far from a side road that connects Żardeniki ( Scharnigk ) on the voivodship road DW 593 with Świątki on DW 530 .

There is a rail connection via the Bzowiec ( Beiswalde ) station on the state railway line No. 221 from Gutkowo ( Göttkendorf ) not far from Olsztyn ( Allenstein ) via Dobre Miasto ( Guttstadt ) to Braniewo ( Braunsberg ).

The nearest larger town, Dobre Miasto, is eight kilometers away, and the district town of Olsztyn is 30 kilometers away.

history

On 21 May 1874, the formerly formed Warlack called community together with seven other municipalities the newly established District Wolsdorf (since 1945: Wilczkowo) in the district of Heilsberg in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910 Warlack, which was judicially aligned with Guttstadt ( Dobre Miasto ), had 252 inhabitants. Their number was 244 in 1933 and only 223 in 1939.

As a result of the Second World War , Warlack became Polish like the whole of southern East Prussia and was given the new name “Worławki”. It also moved to the Powiat Olsztyński in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship (1975 to 1998 Olsztyn Voivodeship ). Today Worławki is a Schulzenamt within the Gmina Świątki.
