World Walking Team Championships

The race walking team world championships (English: IAAF World Race Walking Team Championships until 2014 race walking World Cup / IAAF World Race Walking Cup ) are from the World Association of Athletics Federations (ger .: International Association of Athletics Federations - IAAF) veranstalteter competition of athletics discipline Go . The event is held every two years, alternating with the European Walker Cup . The competition routes for men, women, juniors and juniors are 50 km , 20 km and 10 km .

history

The competitions held from 1961 onwards were initially called the Lugano Trophy after their first venue , and only men could take part. Women were first admitted in 1979, and the event was now called the IAAF Race Walking World Cup . A semi-final was held by 1985. (In the list of venues, the smaller number in the Nations column indicates the participating countries in the final.) In 2004, junior competitions were added. With the exception of 1993 and 1995, when the competitions were called IAAF Reebok Race Walking World Cup , the name IAAF Race Walking World Cup , also in the form of IAAF World Race Walking Cup , remained until 2014. Since 2016 they have been called IAAF World Race Walking Team Championships .
