A World Cup is a worldwide, annual sporting event series.

Numerous other sporting and non-sporting events with a different format use this designation (see World Cup ).

World Cup events are organized by the respective umbrella organization for the sport. A World Cup consists of several competitions that are usually held at different locations over a season.
