Xénia Krizsán (born January 13, 1993 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian heptathlete .

Athletic career

Kriszán took part in a major international event for the first time in 2009, the World Youth Championships in Bressanone , where she was fourth. In 2010 she finished seventh at the Junior World Championships , as well as at the 2011 European Junior Championships . In 2012 she won the silver medal at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona with a new personal best of 5957 points. In 2013 she was seventh again at the 2013 U23 European Championships in Tampere . In 2014 she took part in the European Championships for the first time , which she finished in tenth place.

In 2015, she celebrated her greatest success to date at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn in 2015 , when she secured the gold medal with 6303 points. At the World Championships in Beijing , she improved her personal best by a few points and finished the heptathlon in ninth place. At the European Championships in Amsterdam in July 2016 , she just barely missed another medal in fourth. With this achievement, she also qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, where she finished 16th .

At the European Indoor Championships 2017 , Kriszán finished fourth with a new personal best of 4631 points. At the Hypomeeting 2017 in Götzis, she improved her best performance to 6390 points and qualified for the World Championships in London . There she finished ninth with 6356 points .

At the 2018 World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Kriszán took sixth place in the pentathlon with 4559 points and seventh at the European Championships in Berlin with 6367 points. In 2019 Krizsán improved her personal best at the all- around meeting Götzis , where she finished third with 6469 points, and then again at the Décastar in Talence . Here she reached second place with 6619 points and at the same time set a new national record. In the same year she finished sixth at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with 4608 points.

In 2012, 2013 and 2020 Krizsán became Hungarian champion in heptathlon and in 2011 and 2012 she won the long jump. In 2013 and 2015 she won the 100-meter hurdles and in 2010 and 2011 in the 4-by-400-meter relay. In the hall she won in 2014 and from 2017 to 2019 in the pentathlon and in 2014 in the 60-meter hurdles.
