Decastar

The Décastar is an international athletics meeting in Talence , France . It took place for the first time in 1976 and has been held annually since 1986. Men compete in decathlon , women in heptathlon . The Decastar is part of the IAAF World Combined Events Challenge .

In 1992, the later Olympic champion Dan O'Brien set a world record in the decathlon with 8891 points in Talence, which lasted for almost seven years. In 2004 the decathlon was included in the program for women as well. Marie Collonvillé achieved a world record with 8,150 points in this discipline, which is rarely practiced by women, which, however, was exceeded in the following season. In 2018, the Frenchman Kevin Mayer achieved another world record in Talence with 9,126 points.

  1. Antoinette Nana Djimou Ida originally took second place behind the Ukrainian Ljudmyla Jossypenko .
