You Xie

You Xie ( Chinese  友 谢 , Pinyin Yǒu Xiè , actually Chinese  谢盛友 , Pinyin Xiè Shèngyǒu ) (born October 1, 1958 in Hainan ) is a German publisher , journalist , writer , candidate for the 2019 European elections and a local politician ( CSU ) of Chinese origin.

Life

You Xie was born as the son of banker Xie Jinchuan and elementary school teacher Zhou Huilan. He grew up during the Cultural Revolution and was therefore unable to attend school. Instead, he had to work in the countryside. From 1979 to 1983 he studied German and English at the Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou . After completing his studies (BA), he worked as an interpreter at VW in Shanghai.

1988 You Xie came to study at the University of Bamberg and studied German language and literature , journalism and European Ethnology . At the time of the Tian'anmen massacre he was federal chairman of the “Association of Chinese Students and Scientists in Germany”. You Xie is a Protestant and has been married to Shenhua Xie-Zhang, with whom he has a son, since 1986. The couple lives in Bamberg, where Xie runs a Chinese snack bar and works as a journalist and writer.

He has had German citizenship since 2010. In 1993 You Xie founded China Fan Verlag (华 友 出版社) and has published books in both English and Chinese, for example 《那片 热土》 ( Scientific papers on the educational system in Taiwan ) and Theory and policy of the public pension in China .

On April 20, 2013, the members of the Bamberg CSU elected Xie to the district executive committee. He received 141 out of 220 votes. He achieved the best election result of all district board members. On July 26, 2013, You Xie was elected 29th place on the list of candidates for the 2014 city council election by the CSU general assembly with 97 of 110 votes. In the election, Xie was elected to the city council with the most votes of all CSU candidates. You Xie has meanwhile established himself as a city councilor and was able to successfully enforce applications and make a name for himself. He was re-elected to the city council on March 15, 2020 with 16,033 votes and achieved the best election result of all elected city council members without an OB candidacy.

Xie family

Xie is a descendant of Xie An ( Chinese  謝 安 , Pinyin Xiè Ān , 320–385), Duke Wenjing of Luling and the founder of the Jin Dynasty , in the 56th generation.

You Xie's ancestor Xie Wen Qing (謝文卿, 1046 –1126) was Duke Putian. Xie Wen Qing is a descendant of Xie An in the 26th generation and was a chancellor of the Song Dynasty , which was the ruling dynasty of the Chinese Empire from 960 to 1279. Xie Wen Qing was first banished to what is now Guangdong Province and then to the subtropical island of Hainan . You Xie is a 30th generation descendant of Xie Wen Qing.

His great-grandfather, grandfather and father belonged to the Kuomintang of China. His grandfather took part in the northern campaign . His father was the general manager of the Bank of Taichengfeng. The company was founded in 1912 by his great-grandfather and as part of the Bank of China . In October 1953, the CCP Central Committee officially decided to begin on the transition to socialism. The Chinese government wanted to control the economy as a whole and has therefore included the private sector in state-owned companies. The Xie family was expropriated from the Bank of Taichengfeng in 1957.

His great aunt was Xie Fei ( Chinese  谢 飞 , Pinyin Xiè Fēi , 1913-2013) from Wenchang , Hainan Province. Xie Fei took part in the Long March in 1934 and was the third wife of Liu Shaoqi , President of the People's Republic of China from 1959 to 1968.
