Yvonne Roeb's works mostly represent hybrids and abstract mutations from humans, animals or mineral worlds. The works are often reminiscent of motifs from the world of the unconscious or of objects from the chambers of curiosities and natural objects of the late renaissance . In exhibitions, Roeb often creates imaginary or real spaces, forms closed worlds, individual microcosms from these sculptural beings.

By taking up universally valid forms, transforming or abstracting them, Roeb creates references to science fiction and cultural history . Roeb developed a new kind of abstraction in figuration , its hybrid realism.
