The Zénith de Lille is a multi-purpose hall in the Euralille district of the French city ​​of Lille , Département Nord . The building is owned by the city of Lille.

history

The building was designed in 1993 by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas . The laying of the foundation stone and the start of construction were celebrated at the beginning of 1994. The Zénith is part of the Lille Grand Palais cultural complex , which includes a convention center and exhibition halls . The official opening took place on November 26, 1994. The American rock band ZZ Top performed in the arena.

The hall holds around 7,000 spectators with minimal seating and is mainly the venue for concerts by nationally and internationally known artists and bands such as Indochine , Deep Purple , Bob Dylan , Renaud , Scorpions , Eric Clapton , -M- , Jamiroquai , Maître Gims , Mark Knopfler , Selah Sue , Raphaël , Placebo , Lorie , David Bowie , M.
