The Zachäussingen in Zirl is a church convention in the market town of Zirl in Tyrol . The Zachäussingen has been part of the intangible cultural heritage in Austria since 2015 .

The Zachäussingen is celebrated very early on the third Sunday in October (around 4:30 a.m.). The specialty is the connection between religious and secular practice. For this purpose, the residents gather on the square in front of the parish church and, together with the church choir and a wind group, sing the Zacchaeus song O you mountains, help us mourn , which was written by the Messner Georg Kranebitter in 1723 and deals with the biblical Zacchaeus about repentance . Then people go to the nearby village square to celebrate the church day with church donuts .
