Location of Zehlendorf in Brandenburg

Zehlendorf is a district of the city of Oranienburg in the Oberhavel district in Brandenburg .

geography

Zehlendorf is located in the east of the city and is about ten kilometers east-northeast from the center. The residential area Rehmate , located just under three kilometers to the northeast, belongs to the village . The village is located in the Barnim Nature Park , on the southern edge of the Obere Havelniederung bird sanctuary , by which it is largely surrounded, and borders in the north on the Obere Havelniederung landscape conservation area , which also includes parts of the district.

Neighboring towns are Kreuzbruch (part of the town of Liebenwalde ) in the north, Stolzenhagen (part of the municipality of Wandlitz in the Barnim district ) in the east, and the Oranienburg districts of Wensickendorf in the south and Schmachtenhagen in the west.

history

Zehlendorf was first mentioned in 1335 as Zedelnorp . In 1412 the von Götze family was named as the owner of the place . After Louise Henriette had acquired Zehlendorf in 1651, she made it subordinate to the Bötzow office, which was renamed the Oranienburg office just one year later .

In 1745 Zehlendorf was given its own office . In 1763 the official seat burned down and was relocated to Friedrichsthal . In 1767 the office was renamed Amt Friedrichsthal . In 1819 the Friedrichsthal office was dissolved and Zehlendorf returned to the Oranienburg office. In 1819 the Prussian state leased the Zehlendorf estate to Ernst Friedrich Wilhelm Kienitz, general tenant of the Friedrichsthal office. In 1825 the widow Friederike Wilhelmine, b. Berger sell the property on account of debt. In 1826 Gut Zehlendorf became a free manor .

In 1901, Zehlendorf was connected to the Berlin- Liebenwalde line with the Heidekrautbahn . In 1927, the Zehlendorf estate was sold to the German Society for Internal Colonization based in Berlin, with whose help the settlement of Zehlendorf with farmers should take place.

In order to supply the Germania brickworks in Oranienburg with clay , a clay pit was created as an external command of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp , which existed until 1945.

On October 26, 2003 it was incorporated into the city of Oranienburg.
