Zimmer is a district of the town of Bad Langensalza in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .

geography

Zimmer is south-west of Bad Langensalza on the L 1042 , which connects the place with Alterstedt in the north-west and Ufhoven in the north-east. The place is located 1.66 km northeast of the Hainich National Park , which the district takes the place 450 ha. The rest of the district, with its location on the edge of the Thuringian Basin, belongs to the arable farming area near Langensalza. The town can boast a number of streams in flowing waters that flow into the Salza through green erosion channels: the Zimmertalsgraben rises on the edge of the national park and is united with the Orbach in the center of the village . From here on his name is Zimmerbach . Further south, but also on the edge of the national park, the Hellerbach rises with several of its source streams. About 800 m before the bridge of the Bad Langensalzas bypass ( B 247 ) the Zimmerbach and Hellerbach merge and a few meters further with the source brook of the Salza .

The neighboring towns are: in the north Waldstedt (1.38 km), in the north-east Ufhoven (4.00 km), in the south-east Grumbach (3.51 km), in the south-west Craula (6.34 km) and in the north-west Alterstedt (1, 99 km).

history

The village Zimmer was first mentioned in 817.

The St. Martini Church was consecrated in 1700. The place belonged to the Electoral Saxon Office Langensalza until 1815 and after its cession to Prussia from 1816 to 1944 to the district of Langensalza in the province of Saxony .

After the founding of the GDR , agriculture in the town was forcibly collectivized. Today there is a riding stables in the village.

Zimmer was incorporated into Bad Langensalza on January 1, 1994. At the end of 2015, 330 residents were registered in the village.
