The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 is the sixth Junior Eurovision Song Contest. It will be held in the "Spyros Kyprianou" Athletic Centre in Limassol also known as the Palais des Sports. Cyprus won the right to host the Contest beating bids from Portugal, Serbia, Sweden and Ukraine.[1][2][3] The 2009 contest will be hosted in Ukraine.[4]

The European Broadcasting Union had only promised that the contest would continue until 2007, and had not made any definite intent to organise the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 known; despite this, it chose Cyprus as host country.[5]

The production team for the Junior Eurovision 2008 was decided by the EBU. Kleitos Kleitou (director of CyBC, and also director of the Cypriot Eurovision Song Contest entry in Helsinki in 2007) will be the director for the Cypriot National Final for the selection of the Cypriot Entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Rotterdam. Mr Kleitou will be also the director for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008. Despo Karpi will be the producer of the show and Mr Munro Forbes, collaborator of CyBC for 2 years, will be the executive producer. These titles have been approved by the EBU who has watched the works of the team from previous competitions in Cyprus and it agrees that they can undertake this project.
