(6921) Janejacobs is an asteroid of the main inner belt that was discovered on May 14, 1993 by the Japanese astronomers Seiji Ueda and Hiroshi Kaneda at the observatory in Kushiro-shi ( IAU code 399) on Hokkaidō .
The asteroid was named on June 13, 2006 after the Canadian non-fiction author, city and architecture critic Jane Jacobs (1916–2006), who made a contribution to the urban redevelopment of Greenwich Village in New York City .
