Adolescence and 1st Galatasaray period

Açıksöz attended the renowned Galatasaray grammar school and played here in the youth department of the traditional Galatasaray Istanbul club - the club that was founded by students from the Galatasaray grammar school. Word of his footballing talent spread quickly in the Galatasaray community, so that in 1946, at the age of seventeen, he was accepted into the squad of the Galatasaray Istanbul football team. At the time of his entry into the professional squad, there was no international professional league in Turkey. Instead, regional leagues existed in metropolitan areas such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir , of which the İstanbul Futbol Ligi (German: Istanbul Football League ) was considered the most renowned. In addition, from 1936 an attempt was made to establish a kind of national championship with the Türkiye Maarif Mükafatı , a national football league of Turkey designed as a tournament and held at irregular intervals. Açıksöz made his debut for Galatasaray during the game in the Istanbul Football League on September 29, 1946 against Kasımpaşa Istanbul . Açıksöz also scored two goals in this game. By the end of the season on March 16, 1947 Açıksöz completed four games for his team and scored twice. After the end of the season, Galatasaray took part in the Türkiye Millî Eğitim Kupası (German: Cup of the Ministry of Education of Turkey ). Açıksöz was used in ten of the possible 14 matches during this tournament and finished the tournament with his team in 3rd place.

After this first year, Açıksöz was almost always used in the Istanbul Football League. In the season 1948/49 Açıksöz reached with his team the championship of the Istanbul Football League and thus the first title win of his playing career. Açıksöz was with eight goals this season together with Gündüz Kılıç behind Reha Eken the second most successful shooter of his team and thus had a large share in the championship win. All three players formed the most successful strum in the league and scored 27 of their team's 39 goals. Galatasaray was trained in the first half of this championship season by the Englishman Peter Molloy . At that time, he also looked after the Turkish national team as head coach and put his club player Açıksöz in the national team for the first time in November 1948. After this successful season, Açıksöz completed almost all of his club's competitive games by the summer of 1950. His club failed to defend its title in the Istanbul league and also remained without a title in the Ministry of Education Cup.

Vefa Istanbul

In the summer of 1950, Açıksöz surprisingly moved within the league to Vefa Istanbul - the club that was founded by the renowned Vefa high school . At this association, the former education minister and writer Hasan Ali Yücel , himself a graduate of the Vefa-Gymnasium, was elected president and tried to help the association to its first championship as a patron . So he took care of the acquisition of some stars, u. a. for the move from Açıksöz. At his new club, Açıksöz immediately established himself as a top performer and completed all of his team's competitive games in his first season for Vefa. In the championship, Vefa played at the top of the table for a long time and finally ended the 1950/51 season in 3rd place in the table. In spring 1952 the İstanbul Futbol Ligi was transferred to the İstanbul Profesyonel Ligi (German: Istanbul Professional League ) and all well-known clubs took part in this league from then on. In the first season of this league Vefa reached the 4th place in the table behind arch-rivals Beşiktaş Istanbul the runner-up. Açıksöz appeared in 14 games and scored five goals.

2. Galatasaray time

For the second season of the newly created Istanbul professional league , Açıksöz moved back to his old club Galatasaray. After his return he managed to fight for a regular place straight away. In the 1953/54 season Açıksöz was included in military service and fell due to the rule at the time, according to which service providers were not allowed to be used in league games, the next two seasons for league use. He only took part in team training with a special permit. For the summer of 1953, Galatasaray signed Kadri Aytaç another player for the offensive division of the team. Without playing, Açıksöz and his team were runner-up in the 1953/54 season and even champions of the 1954/55 season in the 1953/54 season . It was not until May 1955 that he was available to the team again and took part in the Ataturk Cup with her . At the start of the 1955/56 season he immediately regained his regular place and formed the most successful offensive team in the league with Aytaç, Suat Mamat , Ali Beratlıgil and Metin Oktay and became champions with his team. In the following season Açıksöz missed with his team the title defense and was runner-up behind arch-rivals Fenerbahçe Istanbul . In the season 1957/58 Açıksöz reached with his team again the championship of the league and finished the next season behind Fenerbahçe as runner-up.

From the spring of 1959 Açıksöz took part with the team in the newly founded and nationwide Millî Lig (today's Süper Lig). This league replaced the regional leagues in the larger metropolitan areas, such as B. the İstanbul Profesyonel Ligi , as the highest Turkish league. In the first season of the Millî Lig , the championship was played in two rounds. In the first round, the league system was divided into two separate groups. In the second round, the two group winners decided the championship among themselves in a final with a return leg. Açıksöz took part with his team in the group red in the competition and finished the group stage as first. Then the team played with Fenerbahçe in a return game from the first Turkish championship and lost to their arch rivals. Açıksöz played almost all of his team's games. In the second season of this league he lost his regular place and completed eleven of the 38 possible league games. After these developments, he ended his playing career in the summer of 1960.

Comeback at Orduspor

In December 1968 Açıksöz looked after the second division club Orduspor . Due to a lack of players, he was forced to make a comeback in December 1967 and completed four league games for his club in which he met twice. He then worked for this club again as a coach.

National team

Açıksöz started his national team career in 1948. Here he was nominated by national coach Peter Molloy , who also coached Açıksöz 'club Galatasaray Istanbul , in the squad of the Turkish national team. Açıksöz made his international debut in November 1948.

On February 19, 1956, the Turkish national team played a friendly against the Hungarian national team in front of their home crowd . Turkey managed a 3-1 victory against what was then known as the " Golden Elf " and made up of players like Ferenc Puskás , Gyula Grosics , József Bozsik , Sándor Kocsis and Nándor Hidegkuti . Açıksöz was involved in all three of his team's goals and was named by the specialist press as one of the key players in this success.

Açıksöz also played twice for the second guard of the Turkish national team.

Trainer and club functionary career

After the end of his playing career, he started a coaching career and took over the first division club Ankara Şekerhilâl SK . He coached this club for a season and then separated from this club. In the summer of 1966 he took over the Istanbul second division side Sarıyer SK . Here he only worked a few game days. During this time he discovered the future star striker Cemil Turan and tried to tie him to his old club Galatasaray Istanbul .

For the 1967/68 season he was presented as head coach at the second division Orduspor . During this time he was active as a player- coach for four match days and completed four games for his team. In February 1968 he was fired from his management. Before the 20th day of the 1969/70 season, he took over the second division Galata SK and replaced the dismissed Bedri Baykal . With the strongly relegation-threatened club, he failed to stay up.

During the presidency of Selahattin Beyazıt , Açıksöz worked at Galatasaray Istanbul as a club official. From 1980 he was a member of the board of directors during Ali Uras' presidency. In December 1982 he resigned from this office.
