- Victory of the Western Roman troops under Stilicho in the battle of Faesulae ( Fiesole ) against invading Goths under Radagaisus , whom Stilicho had to be executed after the battle.
- After the death of his father Godigisel, Gunderich becomes King of the Vandals .
- Probably on December 31 fall Vandals, Alans , Suevi and Alemanni together over the Rhine in Gaul one. Control of the Roman Rhine border temporarily collapses after the Rhine crossing in 406 , and the Roman Rhine fleet ceases to exist.
