AIM-82

The AIM-82 is a short-range air-to-air missile designed by the US Air Force for F-15 aircraft to replace the AIM-9 Sidewinder . In February 1970 the companies Hughes Aircraft , General Dynamics and Philco-Ford should make proposals (technology) for the AIM-82. However, the program was terminated in July of the same year, because at the same time the US Navy began developing the similarly designed AIM-95 Agile .
