Lists on the subject

The SS.11 was in 1953 by the French company Nord Aviation as wire-guided manual command to line of sight - anti-tank missile developed and introduced.

It was introduced into the French armed forces in 1956. After the launch, the missile had to be guided to the target manually by the shooter using a joystick. To control the flight path, two flares were attached to the base of the rocket.

From 1966 the AGM-22 was used on a larger scale from Bell UH-1 helicopters in the Vietnam War . In 1976 the system was replaced by the similar TOW system in the US armed forces .

In the Bundeswehr, the Raketenjagdpanzer  1 based on the HS 30 armored personnel carrier and, later, the Raketenjagdpanzer 2 based on the Kanonenjagdpanzer, were equipped with SS.11 guided missiles. It was also replaced by the similar TOW and HOT systems .
