history
The current local area was not originally a community or peasantry, so there are no older publications for the current residential area. The area was in the Achterathsheide district and belonged to chapels. In a list of places and settlements from 1901, Achterathsfeld, unlike Achterathsheide, was not listed.
The urban development of Achterathsfeld came after the 1950s. From 1954 to 1955, shaft 3 of the Niederberg colliery was sunk south of the current settlement area . The need for workers in the area of chapels increased considerably as a result of coal mining. This resulted in a strong influx of people in this area who settled in Achterathsfeld in addition to Kapellen-Mitte and which led to the urban development of this area.
