Moers-Mitte is the official name for the residential area that forms the center of both the city of Moers and the "Moers district". Since the municipal reform of January 1, 1975, the city of Moers in the Wesel district in North Rhine-Westphalia has consisted of three districts. These are the northern district of Rheinkamp , the middle district of Moers and the southern district of Kapellen . The three districts are divided into a total of 22 residential spaces and “Moers-Mitte” is one of them. The area of the Moers-Mitte residential area is largely identical to the “historic” town of Moers as it existed until March 31, 1906. The current boundaries of Moers-Mitte are almost identical to the old town of Moers before the former rural communities Asberg , Hochstraß , Hülsdonk , Scherpenberg , Schwafheim and Vinn were incorporated on April 1, 1906 and now form the other residential areas in the Moers district.

The Moers-Mitte residential area is completely surrounded by other residential areas and borders in the north on the Rheinkamper Wohnplatz Utfort , in the northeast on the Rheinkamper Wohnplatz Meerbeck , in the east on the Moerser Wohnplatz Hochstraß, in the southeast on the Moerser Wohnplatz Asberg, in the south on the Moerser Vinn residential area and to the west of the Hülsdonk residential area in Moers.
