The Autobahn 40 crosses the district in an east-west direction. The district is more rural and belongs to the sparsely populated areas of the residential areas of Moers.
history
There are indications of the presence of people in the local area of Vinn for both the Iron Age and the Roman Age . At two sites, one north of the main settlement area of the place near Moers-Mitte and one south near Vinnbusch, shards and flakes of flint from the Iron Age were found. From Roman times, objects from Roman times have been excavated in two northern parts of the place. The finds, various ceramic shards, coins and broken bricks, are likely to be indications of settlement sites.
The local area of Vinn was a rural area in the Middle Ages and modern times. At the end of the 18th century, the number of residents was given as only 83. During the French period , Vinn became part of the Mairie Meurs (Moers) in 1800 . After re-belonging to Prussia after 1814, the village of Vinn remained in the mayor's office of Moers as one of the six rural communities with their own separate households. In a study from 1836, Vinn consisted of 37 residential buildings with 232 residents in 1834. Except for one person who belonged to the Catholic denomination, all the others were Protestants. Vinn remained an independent municipality until the end of March 1906 until April 1, 1906, together with Asberg, Hochstraß, Hülsdonk and Schwafheim, it was incorporated into Moers. The 40 m high Vinner water tower , which was commissioned in 1901 , is a landmark of the district. and has been part of the Route of Industrial Culture in the theme route 28 - Water: Works, Towers and Turbines since the beginning of 2016 .
