With the start of the 2010/11 season, the Canadian established himself in the Boston Bruins' NHL squad and won the Stanley Cup with them at the end of the season .
After more than ten years in the Bruins organization, McQuaid was transferred to the New York Rangers in September 2018 . In return, Steven Kampfer , a four-round and seven-round suffrage for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, moved to Boston. After half a year in New York, the defender was transferred again.
