Career

Adam McQuaid began his career as a hockey player with the Sudbury Wolves , for which he was active from 2003 to 2007 in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League . During this period he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2005 in the second round as the 55th player of the Columbus Blue Jackets . On May 16, 2007, the defender of Columbus was given in exchange for a five-round vote for the NHL Entry Draft 2007 to the Boston Bruins . From 2007 to 2010 he then played for Boston's farm team , the Providence Bruins , in the American Hockey League , making his debut in the National Hockey League for Boston during the 2009/10 season . By the end of the season, he scored a goal in a total of 28 NHL games. With the start of the 2010/11 season, the Canadian established himself in the Boston Bruins' NHL squad and won the Stanley Cup with them at the end of the season .

After more than ten years in the Bruins organization, McQuaid was transferred to the New York Rangers in September 2018 . In return, Steven Kampfer , a four-round and seven-round suffrage for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, moved to Boston. After half a year in New York, the defender was transferred again. In exchange for Julius Bergman and again a four-round and seven-round voting right for the NHL Entry Draft 2019, he switched to the Columbus Blue Jackets . There he ended the season, but received no further contract in summer 2019.
