Adam Willard

Adam David Willard (born August 15, 1973 in San Diego ), also known as "Atom", is an American drummer .

From 2005 to 2011 he was the drummer and founding member of Angels & Airwaves , a " supergroup " with Tom DeLonge from blink-182 , David Kennedy from Box Car Racer and Matt Wachter from 30 Seconds to Mars . From May 2009 to March 2010 he played in the punk rock band Social Distortion . There he followed in the footsteps of Charlie Quintana, who ended his engagement as a drummer with Social Distortion after almost ten years of membership. Willard has also been a member of American Hi-Fi , MOTH, Alkaline Trio, and Rocket From the Crypt . From 2003 to 2007 he was also the drummer for The Offspring . There he replaced Ron Welty. Willard is also known from the band The Special Goodness. He is also mentioned as "Drum God" on Weezer's Green Album . He was the drummer for Danko Jones , which he left in 2013. He is currently a member of the band Against Me! .

In the early 1990s he played in the underground skate band Custom Floor with skaters Garry Davis (guitar) and Phil Esbenshade (bass). He also toured with the band Brown Bag Special consisting of Hira Chowdhury (guitar), Mahesh Kotagi, Bilbo Baggins and Adeel Zeb.
