Ixnay on the Hombre (. Engl./span about for " Fuck authority ") is the fourth studio album of American punk rock - band The Offspring . It was released on February 4, 1997 on the Columbia Records label and is the follow-up to the 1994 hit album Smash .

The album was produced by music producer Dave Jerden and recorded at Eldorado Recording Studios in Burbank .
Cover design

Ixnay on the Hombre reached the top ten of the charts in over ten countries, but was unable to build on the commercial success of its predecessor Smash . In Germany, the album was number 15 and stayed in the top 100 for 17 weeks, while in the United States it reached number 9 and stayed in the charts for 38 weeks. The album had its greatest successes with second place each in Australia, Finland and New Zealand.
The songs All I Want , Gone Away , Cool to Hate , The Meaning of Life and I Choose were released as singles.
Sales figures and awards
Ixnay on the Hombre has sold over three million times worldwide to date. More than a million units were sold in the United States alone, for which it was awarded a platinum record there in 1997 . In the UK, the album sold over 100,000 copies by 2013 and received a gold record .
