Ignition (. English for " ignition ", " inflammation ") is the second studio album of American punk rock - band The Offspring . It was released on October 16, 1992 on the Epitaph Records label.
background
In 1991 The Offspring recorded their EP Baghdad , which was a success. As a result, the band came into contact with Epitaph Records, the label of Brett Gurewitz , guitarist of the group Bad Religion , through their producer Thom Wilson . Thom Wilson convinced him to sign The Offspring and release their second studio album Ignition .

The album was produced by music producer Thom Wilson and recorded at Westbeach Recorders in Hollywood and Track Record Studios in North Hollywood .
Cover design
The album cover shows a photo of a campfire against a brown background. At the top of the picture is the lettering the Offspring in beige and at the bottom of the picture is the title ignition , also in beige.

Ignition has sold over a million times worldwide to date. Although it did not enter the charts, more than 500,000 units were sold in the United States alone, for which it was awarded a gold record there in 1996 .
