Greatest Hits (English for: "Greatest Hits") is a best-of album by the American punk band The Offspring . It was released on June 27, 2005 on the Columbia Records label.

Most of the songs on the album are previously released singles from the five studio albums Smash (three songs), Ixnay on the Hombre (two songs), Americana (three tracks), Conspiracy of One (two tracks) and Splinter (two tracks) . Only the song Can't Repeat and the hidden track Next to You are new releases. Also included is the track Defy You from the soundtrack of the movie Nix Like Out From Orange County . The version released in Europe also includes a The Wiseguys remix of The Kids Aren't Alright .

Cover design

The album cover is kept quite simple. It shows the band's logo in black and gray at the bottom left - a skull with hair that looks like flames and is surrounded by a circle. At the top right of the picture you can find the lettering The Offspring and Greatest Hits in gray. The background is black.

The best-of album rose to number 23 in the German charts and stayed in the top 100 for ten weeks. In the USA, the album reached number 8 and left the charts after 18 weeks.

The songs Can't Repeat and Next to You were released as singles, but they did not reach any chart listings.

Matthias Manthe from laut.de rated the album with two out of a possible five points and asked the general question about the meaning of best ofs. It is a “loveless song compilation, free of surprises just like the music” and contains “exactly one bonus track,” which is very similar to the song The Kids Aren't Alright .
