Geographical location

The place is in the front Odenwald in a small western side valley of the Weschnitz west of Rimbach-Mitte . The highest elevation of Albersbach is around 360 meters in the west of the district on the ridge that extends from the Juhöhe to the northeast.

history

The oldest surviving mention of Albersbach comes from 805 as "Albenesbach". For centuries the place was owned by the Lords of Dalberg . The Kreiswald farm , which today belongs to Albersbach , belonged to the Ulner von Dieburg family .

In Albersbach and in Hof Kreiswald, the Palatinate Land Law from 1582, renewed in 1610, was a particular law . In addition, the common law applied , insofar as the Palatinate Land Law did not contain special regulations for a matter. This special rights retained its validity and throughout the 19th century during the affiliation of the area to the Grand Duchy of Hesse and was only on January 1, 1900 by the same across the whole German Reich current Civil Code replaced.

In 1806, Albersbach and Hof Kreiswald fell to the Grand Duchy of Hesse as a result of the Rhine Confederation Act , which incorporated the towns into the Principality of Starkenburg (from 1816: Province of Starkenburg ). The patrimonial jurisdiction of the noble families initially continued.

In 1812 there were 97 inhabitants in eleven houses.

Between 1820 and 1822 there was an administrative reform in the Grand Duchy. With it, jurisdiction and administration were separated at the lower level . District districts were created for administrative tasks , and district courts for the first instance jurisdiction. Albersbach was incorporated into an office in Heppenheim that only existed for a short time in 1820 or shortly before that . Both Albersbach and Hof Kreiswald were incorporated into the district of Heppenheim in terms of administration in 1821 and assigned to the Fürth district court in terms of jurisdiction . The Ulner von Dieburg family had previously waived their patrimonial jurisdiction vis-à-vis the state .

From 1821 to 1839 Albersbach formed together with Bonsweiher and Ober-Laudenbach a communal mayor's office ("Ober-Laudenbach").

A school was built in 1886 . After a new building, it remained in operation until 1968.

In the competition Our village should be more beautiful , the place won the state in 1964 and a year later it was even the national winner.

Shortly before the start of the big wave of consolidation of the regional reform in Hesse , the community joined the Rimbach community at the beginning of 1969. For Albersbach, a local district with a local advisory board and mayor was set up, which also includes the Helmsberg farm group , which is close to Albersbach, but already in the Rimbach district .

After the incorporation into the municipality of Rimbach, a local advisory board with a local mayor was installed for Albersbach . The Albersbach local advisory council has five seats, which are divided as follows after the local elections in Hesse in 2016 :
