Albert James Campbell (born December 12, 1857 in Pontiac , Michigan , † August 9, 1907 in New York City ) was an American politician . Between 1899 and 1901 he represented the state of Montana in the US House of Representatives .

Early years

Albert Campbell attended the public schools in his home country and then the Michigan Agricultural College in Lansing . After working as a teacher for a few years, he began studying law. After his admission to the bar in 1881, Campbell began working in his new profession in Oxford . In 1882 he moved to Clarke . Between 1886 and 1888, Campbell served as a district attorney in Lake County .

Promotion and further curriculum vitae

In 1888 Albert Campbell moved to Butte , Montana, where he also worked as a lawyer. He became a member of the Democratic Party , for which he was elected to the Montana House of Representatives in 1897 . Between March 4, 1899 and March 3, 1901 Campbell was a member of the US Congress for one term . There he was the successor to Charles S. Hartman . In 1900 he decided not to run again. After his time in Washington , he continued his legal practice in Butte. James Campbell died in New York in 1907 and was buried in Butte.
