With about 270 inhabitants, Albertshausen is one of the smaller districts of the spa town of Bad Wildungen . history

Kump and Linde
Hutewald Halloh

Albertshausen can look back on over 750 years of history. The first written mention of Albertshausen is dated to the year 1242. In 1242 Conrad von Itter had a farm and goods in Albertshausen. The former settlement area of the village was further north on both sides of the Wun brook . The church, then still a chapel, was on the south side of the village.

A fire in 1532 destroyed all of Albertshausen except for two buildings. The Thirty Years' War also brought destruction to Albertshausen. During this time Albertshausen was built further south and the settlement area of the village increased.

In the 18th century the chapel was expanded into a church; the church tower was built in 1784. Intensive building activity continued in the 19th century. Most of the town's half-timbered houses were built at the beginning of the 19th century. At that time the village square was created by demolishing some buildings. The Kump was created there in the center of the village around 1850 . In 1888, the village linden was planted on the Kump .

As part of the regional reform in Hesse , Albertshausen was attached to the city of Bad Wildungen on October 1, 1971. The place is in the nature park Kellerwald-Edersee .

Culture and sights

In addition to the "Kump und Linde" landmark, there are cultural landscapes in the vicinity of the village, which is still predominantly characterized by agriculture and livestock farming , especially the former Hutewald "Halloh". The Albertshaus farmers used to tend pigs there. Today the Halloh is placed under special protection as an individual creation of nature and is legally binding by the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg as an area natural monument .

The oldest building in the village is the church. It was probably built as a Gothic chapel before 1532 and was the burial place of the von Geismar family in the 16th and 17th centuries. The baptismal font , reminiscent of that of Geismar, dates from 1582 , as does the epitaph of Gunter-Friedrich von Geismar from 1587. In 1746 a gallery was built. In 1783 the church was rebuilt in the late baroque style; the windows were enlarged and in 1784 a lattice tower was added on the west side. In 1864 an organ by the master organ builder Jacob Vogt from Korbach was installed.

The old village school in the immediate vicinity of the village church was converted into a village community center in the 1980s .
